Survey responses on cuts to funding

We surveyed over 500 Birmingham residents and stakeholders in late 2024 on their thoughts on culture. In one section of the survey we asked people what they were concerned about in terms of funding cuts to culture.

Respondents talked to us about the economic impact, particularly in areas such as the night time economy or tourism, and how it might lead to a loss of identity for the city. They also talked about reduced social cohesion, fewer improvements to mental wellbeing, and about how it would make it harder for the city to attract talent.
