Sense Touchbase Pears

Sense TouchBase Pears, located in Selly Oak, is a vibrant community hub dedicated to ensuring that everyone, regardless of disability, can participate fully in life. The centre seamlessly integrates health and social care services with a rich array of arts, sports, and wellbeing activities, fostering an environment where disabled individuals feel connected and included.

Central to TouchBase Pears' mission is its comprehensive arts programme, designed to empower disabled individuals to express themselves through various creative outlets. The centre offers inclusive arts activities that celebrate diversity and encourage creativity among participants. These programmes are open to people who are deafblind or have complex disabilities, as well as their families, promoting a shared artistic experience.

Music plays a pivotal role at TouchBase Pears, with offerings such as one-to-one music sessions tailored to individual needs, allowing participants to explore and develop their musical interests in a supportive environment.

Dance is another key component of the arts programme. The centre hosts sessions like ‘College Dynamic Dance’, a fun and creative inclusive dance workshop where everyone is invited to move and create in their own way. Led by experienced dance artists, these sessions are suitable for individuals who use mobility aids, wheelchairs, and various communication methods, ensuring accessibility for all participants.
